You may remember Carmen Ellis from Julie’s MOTO bedroom a few years back. Carmen is the designer of that incredible footed planter. It’s so fun and unexpected while still being beautiful and clearly handcrafted. Actually, every piece is made by hand in Los Angeles! Well, last week she announced her new collection, Illumination Series, and it’s stunning. I mean just look below.

Wadham Gardens by Ohra Studio

Wadham Gardens by London-based Ohra Studio perfectly exemplifies the less is more approach. Tired of being surrounded by excess, the clients enlisted Ohra for their signature aesthetic, which combines minimalism, soothing colour palettes and natural ecological materials while emphasizing simplicity and comfort. Together, they focused on the essentials, creating a light and airy space that perfectly captures the modern London spirit.

Initially, the project team, led by Ochra Studio CEO Zlata Rybchenko, focused on the clients’ lifestyle, ensuring elements that were integral to this (such as their piano for home musical events) and those essential to the interior design were incorporated. The result is a calm and cosy atmosphere that serves as a stage for the owners’ beautiful collection of art and furniture, such as the Philippe Hurel Yumi Sofa designed by Laurène B. Tardrew & Romain Jourdan, the marble coffee table by Stahl+Band, the Menu Androgyne Dining Table, Flos Wireline Suspension Lamp and a painting by Oliver Watts.

Wooden elements are integrated throughout the project to add warmth and character, with American walnut panelling helping to create a sense of privacy without sacrificing natural light.

Tattoo Artist Shares Things Never to Do When Getting

  • I’m a tattoo artist who’s seen clients make common mistakes when getting fine-line work.
  • Go to an artist that specializes in the technique and look at how their past tattoos have healed.
  • Make sure to stick to your aftercare regimen and consider that your design may need touch-ups.

Fine-line tattoos have gotten more popular in the last few years, largely in part to social media. However, there are a few things to know before booking your appointment.

As a tattoo artist specializing in micro-realism, I often see clients make several of the same mistakes when getting fine-line work.

Going to an artist that doesn’t specialize in fine-line designs

Fine-line tattoos take a lot of practice to master since the needle is very small.

With smaller groupings or a single needle, every little imperfection shows, so it’s imperative to find an artist that specializes in this work.

Look through their social media and make sure they have a lot of examples of the type of tattoo you’re looking for. From color to script designs, every style has

Happy Sunday and almost Halloween:) Hope you’ve got some great costumes ready to go and some good candy coming your way. If you missed it on Instastories, Em shot THE FARMHOUSE KITCHEN this week so if the candy doesn’t do it for you, hopefully this big reveal in a couple of weeks will! November is going to be pretty sweet if you ask us. But until then, let’s get into these links.

This week’s home tour is yet another stunning project from Jake Arnold (not shown above:)). Aside from the incredibly special pieces that he and his team always seem to find (shoutout to those 1940s Swedish folding dining chairs around the breakfast nook), this home is a little different for Jake. While beige and browns are still the primary color palette, this home has a lot of other colors! There’s a purple room, a blue room, a green room, and a light terracotta room. All on the more muted side but it’s still fun to see how they work with color. Check it out here!

From Emily: I’m a true crime podcast binge-r and went through a lot this week while I was staying up late prepping/styling the kitchen. … Read More

Harvey Weinstein Accuser Says He Invoked Gwyneth Paltrow

  • A woman who has accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault testified in his rape trial on Thursday.
  • Ashley M. said that Weinstein invoked actress Gwyneth Paltrow during a 2003 encounter.
  • “Look what I did for her career,” she remembered him saying as he tried to initiate a “naked massage.”

Gwyneth Paltrow was nowhere to be found in the Los Angeles courtroom on Thursday, but the Hollywood star’s name rang out all the same as a woman who has accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault delivered emotional testimony in the disgraced mogul’s criminal trial on rape charges.

Court proceedings in the case continued this week with testimony from several witnesses. LA County prosecutors have charged Weinstein with 11 counts of sexual assault stemming from allegations by five different women who accused the one-time producer of abusing them in LA hotels between 2004 and 2013.

Weinstein is already serving a 23-year sentence in a New York prison following an East Coast trial but faces an additional life sentence heading into the West Coast proceedings. He has denied the
