  • He was 37 years old.
  • “My heart is gone and I just really need him to come back,” his wife wrote on Facebook.

Country singer Jake Flint died just hours after his wedding on Saturday, his publicist, Clif Doyal, told The Oklahoman.

Flint was 37 years old.

While the official cause of death has yet to be released, Doyal told The Oklahoman that Flint died in his sleep following his wedding on Saturday.

“He was not only a client, he was a dear friend and just a super nice guy. As you can see from the outpouring on social media, he was loved by everybody. I think a lot of it was just that he was a people person, and he had an amazing sense of humor. He made everybody laugh, and he made everybody feel welcome,” Doyal told The Oklahoman.

Doyal told E News in a Wednesday statement that Flint was “a prolific songwriter, recording artist, and in-demand live performer

Years After A Forced Budget Kitchen Reno (Due To Black Mold

Well, well, well…Here I am, after much teasing, I am finally on my way to a kitchen reveal. I think this space was the hardest for me to finish because it’s been completely liveable for a long time. After living in apartments for years with cabinets that had been painted so many times that only half of them closed, tile countertops, no garbage disposal, no dishwasher, and subpar appliances – this kitchen felt so much nicer so I just wasn’t inspired to make it any better.

That, and when we made the decision to renovate the kitchen, it was under much financial duress so the finishes weren’t anything to write home about and I knew I couldn’t justify changing them. Before we get too far into that though, let’s talk about where we started:

PHASE 1: THE BEFORE

File this under: “one of a million examples of LA real estate not even trying to sell clearly overpriced homes”. This is what the kitchen looked like when I walked through the house, completely despondent, and ready to give up house hunting for good. For more about my psyche when we were searching for a home in 2016 you can read about it … Read More

THE DESIGN CHASER

Can Roig by Bloomint Design

Based in Barcelona, Bloomint Design Studio works with private and commercial clients around the world, designing spaces that inspire and promote the physical, psychological and emotional well-being of the people who inhabit them. For their Can Roig project, a private home located near the village of Gas Concos in Mallorca, Bloomint Design explored traditional Mallorcan architecture with an innovative look at the use of local materials.

Just a few kilometres from a coastline of beaches with stunning turquoise waters, the traditional architecture of this inland village pays respect to the beautiful natural environment. It was important for Bloomint Design that they find the right balance between the landscape and the new building by choosing colours that would blend in with the materials and textures already present in the surrounding area.

This approach meant connecting with the natural elements of Mallorca, from the inner part of the island, along with its origins. It included the incorporation of materials in their wildest state and those worked for centuries by generations of Mallorcans. Highlighting their colours, textures and the way they have been formed, Bloomint searched for

Buying your corn canned instead of fresh can save you time.
  • Insider asked chefs about some of the best and worst things to buy canned.
  • Chefs said that canned corn, pumpkin puree, and beans are all great buys.
  • Experts said skip canned green beans and fruit since you're better off buying it frozen or fresh.
Canned corn can save you a lot of time when you cook.

No need to take your time shucking canned corn.

Canned corn can save you a lot of prep time, according to chef Barry Tonkinson, director of culinary research and development at the Institute of Culinary Education.

"As much as I enjoy [shucking], preparing, and cooking corn, sometimes I wish to add a touch of sweetness and color to a dish without the lengthy preparation," he told Insider.

Plus, canned corn retains a high antioxidant level and is much less expensive than fresh, Tonkinson added.

There's nothing like the creamy consistency you get with canned pumpkin.

Creating Custom Storage With Ikea Bestas

Creating Custom Storage With Ikea Bestas

Want to turn simple store-bought cabinets into custom built-ins? “Hacking” something that’s already made is so much easier than building something from scratch, and it can look really custom in the end. Built-in storage is universally helpful (especially in a smaller home – but really, anywhere), and things like the floor-to-ceiling closets in our bedroom, the desk & bookcase we added to our son’s room, and the wall-to-wall media cabinet in our family room have made such a difference. But one built-in that we’ve barely mentioned since we added and upgraded them are the Ikea Bestas flanking our fireplace:

The good news is that it took just a few fairly easy steps to make them look a lot more custom than they look on the showroom floor in Ikea. So let’s get into the details.

Why Did We Choose Ikea Bestas?

The photo you see above is the view directly across from our bed. You may recall it from inspiring photos like the one below, taken right after we moved in and were still in the thick of unpacking. Like, quite literally THE THICK.

Once we were fully unpacked, it became clear that this area was begging for some matching

On Preventing (Or Preparing Or Coping) With “Overwhelm”

On Preventing (Or Preparing Or Coping) With “Overwhelm”

Tis the season of overwhelm, but it’s different this year. As one of my best friends put it last week, “My strategy is to prioritize the balls I don’t want to drop, and hope for the best with the rest.” She has a very demanding corporate career and two kids. She’ll hold on to the kids (not compromising there), prioritize the work projects that can’t get neglected, then phone it in, delegate, or push off everything else. The overwhelm can be real. As a Q4 content creator, I thought I was in one of only a few industries with this unreasonably busy season. And then I started talking to EVERY SINGLE WOMAN I KNOW. This year I have a strategy that I hope to god works.

On top of the holidays, which rely heavily on the labor of moms, unfortunately every industry is at its most busy in Q4. It’s gnarly. The biggest challenge with 2022 is that the world, all industries, and society at large are treating us like we are still in 2019. We aren’t. And we can’t go back.

What we’ve learned about priorities can’t be unlearned. So much came into focus during those two years that … Read More
