published about 4 hours ago
Over the years, millions of homes have stood in as picturesque Instagram backdrops. But all in all, what are the most Instagrammed houses in the history of the app? To find out, the price comparison website Comparethemarket scoured the app’s data to identify the 10 most photographed houses. Unsurprisingly, pretty much all of these homes belonged to famous people or were used in iconic movies and films.
Coming in first with 585,667 posts is Highclere Castle, whose exterior stood in for the titular estate at the heart of the hit PBS period drama “Downton Abbey.” In real life, the Hampshire home is owned by the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon. It’s now a museum that guests can tour, learning about its rich history and maybe even imagining themselves as members of the Crawley household.
